DESCRIPTION: French "STEAM HAMMER" mantel clock from the Industrial series designed by Guilmet, 8-day time and bell strike spring driven movement with applied Roman numeral gilt metal dial, the vertical impact "hammer" serving as the pendulum after the power has been transferred 9 times, s#759, C.1880 including matching steam roller candelabra on black marble base
CONDITION: the rectangular "pendulum", the anvil and the rear cover are replacements. The clock is in very good condition otherwise, the marble base is intact with several small chips around the perimeter, the dial has some moderate oxidation and the numerals are original.
